However, the attitude and professionalism of the actual movers on the day of the move were far from pleasant. As soon as they arrived, they commented on how many items I had and immediately insisted that the move would take twice as long as the original estimate. They began arguing about why the estimate was wrong and said that if I didn’t agree, they would just leave. It was an unpleasant start. In the end, the final cost came out to almost double the quoted estimate. I do have a slightly larger one-bedroom, but based on recent reviews—especially from customers who moved a full three-bedroom—I expected the cost to be within that range. Instead, mine ended up being about 1.5 times higher than those larger moves, which was surprising. Two movers came, and while none of my belongings were damaged and they did wrap things carefully, the entire process was extremely slow and did not feel professional at all. I honestly felt that I could have packed faster myself; in fact, I ended up packing some cabinets on my own, and even the move-out cleaning crew helped because it was frustrating to watch. They also kept complaining that they didn’t bring enough boxes, to the point where I had to go out in the middle of the move and buy additional boxes myself. Although they had a dolly, they rarely used it and instead carried boxes one by one, which made everything take much longer. Throughout the move, they repeatedly complained about the time, the number of boxes, and why things were taking so long, which made the entire experience very unpleasant. EXCELLENTVerified I reached out a week prior to my move via Yelp, and they responded quickly and efficiently with the best quote in comparison to several other moving services. They arrived on time with 2 gentleman, who were INCREDIBLY STRONG. I had some very heavy furniture, which they made look light as a feather. Everything was moved to the new place within the time frame they quoted, placed in the correct rooms of the home, and all without a scratch. Two very polite guys came and, like wizards, made our 2 bedroom apartment practically vanish into their truck. Barring the slow elevator in our building, they were very efficient. Two weeks later, they moved some important family heirlooms from a house in Old Lyme, Connecticut to that same storage facility in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. Both moves were absolutely perfect. Every communication was clear and timely. Prices were upfront and competitive. Movers were smart, kind, friendly, professional, and willing to go the extra mile to make sure our items were taken care of exactly how I would like them boxed, wrapped, moved and placed.
